Linda Marie Girard

Linda Marie Girard, 65, of La Crosse, died on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the Hillview Health Care Center. She was born on January 15, 1949 in La Crosse to Clarence and Doris (Morman) Verthein. Linda graduated from La Crescent High School. She married Lawrence “Butch” Girard on November 8, 1975 in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Hokah. Linda was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, crocheting, doing crafts and collecting dolls.
She is survived by a son, William C. Verthein of Stoddard, a sister Barbara (Mike Horsfall) Carlson of La Crescent, four brothers, Robert (Carol) Verthein of Dakota, MN, Gary (Joan) Verthein of Holmen, Richard (Barb) Verthein of Minneapolis, and Greg (Lynn) Verthein of La Crescent, two sisters-in-law, Lisa (Virgil) Brown of La Crosse and Karen (Doug) Dummer of La Crosse, a brother-in-law Joe Girard of La Crosse, many nieces and nephews, and her extended family at Hillview Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence, her parents, and a brother-in-law John Carlson.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Hillview Health Care Center Chapel. Rev. Robert Schaller will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Hokah, MN.
