After marriage, Judith took a number of jobs in support of their common goal of Brett’s pursuit of medical school, residency and becoming a doctor. She worked as a secretary for the National Life Insurance Co. in Garden City from 1967-1969. From 1970-1975 she served as program coordinator and administrative assistant at the Institute of Gerontology at the University of Michigan. She later worked as an administrative assistant in the advertising department for 3M in Maplewood, MN from 1975 until the birth of her first son in 1977. Judith is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Brett A. Feighner, MD of La Crescent; two sons, Matthew John (Deanna) Feighner of La Crescent and Mark Joseph Feighner of Minneapolis, MN; she was the oldest of six children and is further survived by a sister and four brothers. All miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Throughout her life, she was an outstanding cook and baker. Judith loved crafts, decorating and sewing. Her greatest joy however, came from keeping a home and caring for her husband and two sons. No matter if you were a guest in her home or a guest in her hotel, you were always treated with a smile and a welcoming heart. Judith had the natural ability to make people feel comfortable, no matter the circumstance. She touched the lives of so many and did what she could to make whatever troubled you better.
In accordance to her wishes, there will be no formal services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
