Joan A. Reese

Joan A. Reese, 83 of Onalaska, WI, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Augustana Care Center in Apple Valley, Minnesota. Joan was born in La Crosse, WI, on July 18, 1931 to Jerome and Florence (Walsh) Hutzenbuehler. She married John T. Reese at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman in La Crosse on November 29, 1952. Joan was a life-long resident of La Crosse where she and John lovingly raised three children.
Joan is survived by two daughters, Sheila (Robert) Procaccini of Burnsville, MN, Laure (Charles) Schaefer of Eagan, MN, one son Gary (Tina) Reese of Waukesha, WI, four grandsons, Robert, Benjamin, Anthony and Samuel; five great grandchildren, Tyler, Kaleb, Nora, Eli and Gabriella. She is further survived by her twin sister Jean (Earl) Welch of La Crescent, MN and sisters Norma (James) Platz of Onalaska and Dorothy (Norman) Von Haden of Onalaska. In addition to her parents and her husband John, she was preceded in death by her sister Virginia and brothers Edwin and Ralph.
A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Onalaska. Rev. Delbert Malin will officiate. Entombment will follow in the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum at the Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:30 am until the time of services. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse is assisting the family.
