Dorothy E. Gibson, 79 of Onalaska, WI passed away at her home on Friday, October 3, 2014. She was born in La Crosse on October 14, 1934 to Arthur W. and Mary A. (Hatfield) Campbell. She married Russell R. Gibson in La Crosse on September 25, 1951.
Dorothy had served as a Sunday school teacher for twenty seven years and had been an active member at Bethany Evangelical Free Church of La Crosse. She had been a very loving wife and mother to five daughters, one son, grandmother to twelve, great-grandmother to eighteen and great great grandmother to two. In addition to her husband Russell of Onalaska, she is survived by her four daughters; Patricia (Ron) Casey of Anaconda, MT, Wanda (Dave) Johnson of Westby, WI, Peggy (Don) West of Myrtle Beach, SC, Nancy (Ray) Knutson of Onalaska, her siblings Robert Campbell of Onalaska, Eldora Hohlfeld of La Crosse, Rosie Campbell of Onalaska, Irvine Campbell of Holmen, WI, Frank Binsfield of La Crosse and one son in law David Gilbertson Sr. of Baraboo, WI. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter Deborah Gilbertson, one son Michael Gibson, one sister, two brothers and one son in law. The family would like to acknowledge the loving care that Dr. John Farnan provided to Dorothy during her illness.
Memorial services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Bethany Evangelical Free Church of La Crosse. Pastors Corey Sateren and Andy Lefebre will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call on the family at the church on Wednesday from 9am until the time of services.
