Lena A Heintz

Lena A. Heintz, 95 of Caledonia, MN passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Caledonia Care and Rehabilitation, Roseview Court. She was born on March 10, 1919 in Dorchester, IA to William and Rose (Meyer) Kohnen. She was baptized May 4, 1919 at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, Eitzen, MN. On June 10, 1943 she married Arthur Heintz in Caledonia and he preceded her in death on February 17, 1973. Lena had worked at Control Data in Spring Grove, MN for several years and later worked in the laundry at St. Francis Medical Center from 1971 until her retirement in 1990 after 19 years of service.
Lena is survived by one brother Martin of Wessington, SD, two grandchildren Debbie (Jeff) Dooley of Franklin, IN, John Heintz of Onalaska, WI, her daughter in law Mary Heintz of Onalaska, two great-grandchildren Jahnathan and Samuel Dooley of Franklin, IN, one step daughter Cheryl, three step grandchildren and her little buddy Mason. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two sons Vernon and Stanley, two brothers Elmer and Ben Kohnen.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Roseview Court for the wonderful care she received during her stay there.
Funeral services will held at 11am on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services La Crescent chapel; 111 South Oak St. Pastor Kent Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends may call on the family Friday morning at the funeral home from 10am until the time of services.
