Melba J Krett

Melba J. Krett, 90, of La Crosse, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the Hillview Health Care Center. She was born on September 12, 1923 in Caledonia, Minnesota to George and Jane (Wilson) Metcalf. She married Robert Krett on November 7, 1946 in La Crosse. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1992.
Melba was a meticulous legal secretary. Her attention to detail carried over to her homemaking as she was an excellent cook and housekeeper.
Melba is survived by her sister Georgia (Vernon) Roble of Spring Grove, MN, brother-in-law James Krett of La Crosse along with nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her sister Avis Trehus, brothers-in-law Elmer Trehus and Paul Krett and beloved niece Vera Gunelson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August, 18, 2014 at the Schumacher – Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. S. Rev. Brian D. Konopa will officiate. Entombment will follow in the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum, Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
