Homer B. Zeuner

Homer B. Zeuner, 97, of La Crosse, died on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Hillview Health Care Center. He was born on December 23, 1916 in Sun Prairie, WI to Bernard and Meta (Klausmeyer) Zeuner. Homer served with the 8th Army Air Corps during WWII. He was stationed in England, which is where he met his wife Edna. Homer owned a barber shop in Viroqua for many years before moving to La Crosse in 1964. He then worked for the State Board of Health for 20 years as the Wisconsin State Barber Inspector. Homer was an avid pilot who loved flying, and also enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the VFW Post 3032 in Viroqua and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1920 in La Crosse.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Edna, a son Alan (Christine) Zeuner of Oregon, WI, three grandchildren, Brittany, Lee, and Joseph Zeuner, and two great-grandchildren, Elliott and London.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Pastor Bruce Iverson will officiate. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum, Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse on Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Moose Lodge, local veterans organizations, the Coulee Region Humane Society or the Salon Professional Academy.
