Lois Ann Buss

Lois Ann Buss, 79, of La Crosse, died on Friday, August 01, 2014 at the Willows Bethany Riverside in La Crosse. She was born on July 24, 1935 in Manitowoc, WI to Edwin and Malinda (Broeker) Buss. Lois was baptized at First German Ev. Lutheran in Manitowoc. She graduated from Dr. Martin Luther High School in New Ulm, MN in 1953 and from Dr. Martin Luther College in 1957. Lois taught for one year at St. Paul’s Lutheran in Gresham, NE and then taught for 39 years at Onalaska Luther High School, retiring in 1997. Lois loved the girls she had the pleasure of coaching in basketball and volleyball while teaching at Luther, and also enjoyed donating her time at the Good Steward Shop. Lois was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Luther High Auxiliary, and Tri-State Ostomy.
She is survived by three nieces, Kathy Tuschel, Margaret Smith, and Barbara Peronto, all of Manitowoc. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Carol Ligman, and two brothers, Charles and Richard.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Pastor David Leistekow will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Luther High School Tuition Assistance or Immanuel Lutheran Church. Lois’ family would like to thank all the friends and medical professionals who helped her over the past several years and a special thanks to good friend and neighbor Vicki who has been helping Lois the past several years.
