Laverne E. Samb

Laverne E. Samb, 94, of La Crosse, died on Saturday, August 02, 2014 at the Bethany St. Joseph Care Center. She was born on October 1, 1919 in Bluff Siding, WI. She married Walter Samb on October 13, 1945 in La Crosse. He preceded her in death in 1985. Laverne worked as a Health Science Librarian at La Crosse Lutheran Hospital, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the National Library of Medicine and the Wisconsin Health Science Librarians Association.
She is survived by a son John W. (Martha) Samb, and two granddaughters, Meredith Rebecca Samb and Lesley Alison Samb, all of Marietta, GA.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 PM until the time of services.
