Jerald "Pops" R. Prestwood

Jerald “Pops” R. Prestwood, 60, of Black River Falls and formerly of La Crosse died peacefully in his home on Thursday, July 31, 2014 with his family by his side. Jerald was born to William and Margaret (Geier) Prestwood in La Crosse on July 24, 1954. Jerald married Kay Pataska in La Crosse on June 30, 1973. He enjoyed spending Sunday’s with his family and working in his garage. Jerald will always be remembered for putting everyone first before himself. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
Jerald is survived by his wife, Kay and their children, Jeremy (Sandy) of La Crosse, WI; Jamie (Tara) of Millston, WI, Rob (Heidi) of Sparta, WI; Matthew of Black River Falls, WI, grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Jerald was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Daniel, sister; Jeannie and by his sister-in-law, Sharon.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 6th at 1:00 p.m. at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse with Rev. Scott Skogen officiating. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
The family would like to thank the Franciscan Healthcare Cancer Center and the 7th floor staff. Also, the Black River Memorial Hospice for their care and compassion to Jerald and his family.
