Anna Walters

Anna Esther Elizabeth (Ekern) Walters, 97, of Winona, died on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the Sauer Health Care in Winona. She was born on February 3, 1917 in Ettrick, WI to Edward and Gladys (Pfaff) Ekern. Anna married Roy Walters on September 11, 1937 in La Crescent. They spent their entire married life on a farm in rural La Crescent. Anna was a member of the La Crescent United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was a member of the ladies aid.
Anna is survived by a daughter, Anna Louise (Joe) Gady, two sons, James Walters and Stanley Walters, four grandchildren, Paul Gady, La Verne Gady, William (Gulshat) Walters, and Kevin (Sarah) Walters, four great-grandchildren, Kenneth Gady, Anna Marie Gady, Samuel Walters and Lily Walters. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy, an infant son Kenneth, her parents, a sister Charlotte and a brother Reno.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM at La Crescent United Methodist Church, 520 Elm Street. Pastor Greg Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in the Prospect Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Memorials may be given to La Crescent United Methodist Church or Sauer Health Care of Winona.
