Joseph Davids

Joseph L. Davids, 57 of La Crosse, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, July 20, 2014. He was born in La Crosse on May 25, 1957 to Robert L. and Barbara K. (Hengstl) Davids. Joe was a 1976 graduate of West Salem High School and a twenty year veteran of the United States Navy having proudly served his country overseas during Operation Desert Storm and retiring from military service as Master Sergeant in 1996. In 2002 he met the love of his life Kelly Becker and they married in La Crosse in 2012. For the past 17 years Joe had worked as a locksmith for Bob’s Lock and Safe of La Crosse. An avid dog lover, Joe is now with his beloved dogs “Sandy” and “Beaslee”. Among his interests were working on and restoring his classic 1941 Chevy Special Deluxe and renovating and restoring their historic family home which was built in 1873.
In addition to his wife Kelly of La Crosse he is survived by one daughter Brittney Davids of West Salem, WI, two sisters Katheryn Deters of La Crosse, Sherry Hosler of Trempealeau, WI and a special niece Lisa Davids of La Crosse. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Lynn Davids.
A memorial gathering for friends and family will be held from 4 until 7 pm on Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services La Crosse chapel, 200 West Ave. So. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be used in Joe’s memory.
