Leonard J Lewiston

Leonard J. Lewiston, 79, of Onalaska, died on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. He was born on February 23, 1932 in La Crosse to Leonard M. and Gladys (Foley) Lewiston. He married Betty Anderson on July 21, 1956 in Cashton, WI. Leonard had served with the U.S. Army from 1953 1955. He worked at the Trane Co. for 41 years retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Onalaska American Legion Post 336.

He is survived by his wife Betty, three daughters Heide Lewiston of Pinckney, Michigan, Tena (Jay) Flatow of West Bend, WI and Carla Lewiston of Madison, WI alond with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters Margaret Kvam, Florence Bray and Virginia Koll.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 31, 2011 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 1931 Loomis St., La Crosse. Reverend Lisa Shank will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10 AM until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to Bethel Lutheran Church.The Schumacher Kish Funeral Home is assisting the family.
