She was born in Pine Creek, Wis., on September 1, 1921, to Carl T. and Agnes (Gora) Tulius. She married Joseph H. Hoesley on June 24, 1941, in Pine Creek.

Dorothy was a graduate of Winona High School. She had been employed at Ross of La Crosse furniture store for many years. Dorothy was a member of the Women of the Moose and, she and Joe, who were both country music fans, were members of the CMA.

Dorothy was a wonderful homemaker who was deeply devoted to her family. She was an excellent cook who was well-known amongst family and friends for her pineapple coffee cake. She was a fantastic dancer and loved to play cards. Dorothy was a great friend to many and would love to sit and visit at any time.

She is survived by her four children, Ruthann (John) Jay of Madison, Wis., Joseph H. (Rita) Hoesley, Jr. of La Crosse, Jacqueline (George) Horihan of La Crescent, and Charlotte Bottcher of Onalaska; six grandchildren, Steven (Lynette) Jay of Cape Coral, Fla., Stacey (William) Larson of Sun Prairie, Wis., Randy (Melissa) Hoesley of Ft. Myers, Fla., Corey (Sheri) Hoesley of Minneapolis, Jodi (Michael) Hammersmith of Birchwood, Minn., and Daniel Scott (Shannon) Bottcher of Plainfield, Ill.; and ten great grandchildren, Dani (David) Carlson, III, Christine Jay, Jack William Larson, Macy, Ava, and Lexi Hoesley, Mackenzie Carr, Austin Dahl, and Averee and Aleea Bottcher. Dorothy is further survived by a sister, Rose Hoesley of Fountain City, Wis., a sister-in-law, Mary Tulius of Galesville, Wis.; a brother-in-law, Herman Hoesley of Dodge, Wis.; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Alfred Bud Krause of La Crosse, along with numerous other friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Tulius; a son-in-law, Dan Bottcher; a grand son-in-law, Dr. John Carr; and a life-long friend, Marilyn Wittenberg.

Dorothys family would like to thank Dr. Chaney and the staff at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center for the wonderful care and kindness she received.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 3thrdth, at 10:30 a.m., at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. Rev. Charles Stoetzel will officiate. Entombment will follow in the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum in the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse on Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m., and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
