Zachary F Zenk

Zachary F. Zenk, 23 of Madison and formerly of La Crosse died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. He was born October 9, 1988 in Minneapolis, MN, the first born and only son of Karl and Belinda (Cullen) Zenk. Zach graduated from Aquinas High School in 2007 and was a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was a bright, funny, often sarcastic and always unique free-spirit.

Zach enjoyed music, jam band festivals and spinning poi with his friends. He liked playing a competitive game of euchre or rummy with his family. Zach loved computers his whole life, gaming as a teenager, programming as a profession and being on-line almost constantly. He water-skied and wake boarded on three different waterski teams and behind his dads boat. He was a boy scout for most of his youth. He also participated on the Aquinas wrestling team for several years. Zach was becoming a good cook; eggs being his specialty. He enjoyed playing darts and loved the clown quilts his Granny made him. He made everybody smile.

Zach is survived by his father, Karl (Christine) Zenk; his mother, Belinda Cullen Zenk; two sisters, Rachael and Rebecca Zenk; paternal grandmother, Judy (Tom Hansen) Bevan; maternal grandfather, Dennis (Anna) Cullen; great-grandmother, Irene Cullen; his girlfriend, Ali Flom; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Russel (Linda) Zenk and his maternal grandmother, Dianne Duffy Cullen.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 6th at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, 200 West Ave. S. La Crosse with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services. A reception will be held at the Blessed Sacrament Parish Center immediately following the services.
