Mariann B Rydbom

Mariann Bertha Rydbom, 89, of La Crescent, died on Monday, Decemebr 5, 2011 in her home surrounded by her family. She was a mother and loving wife for 66 years. She was born on April 30, 1922, one of six children, in La Crosse, WI to Frank and Olga (Blank) Otto. She married Vernon Rydbom on June 2, 1945 in Waukesha, WI where they lived until 1962. From 1962 to 1987 they lived and worked on a farm on South Ridge, rural Houston, MN. They moved to La Crescent in 1987. Mariann had a genuine love for cooking and entertaining. She loved the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.

She is survived by her husband Vern, two sons David Rydbom of La Crescent, MN and Jeffrey (Rebecca) Rydbom of Annandale, MN, two grandsons Zachary (Lindsey) Rydbom and Nicolas Berg, two brothers Edward Otto of Waukesha, WI and Willard (Dorothy) Otto of La Crosse. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, La Crescent. Pastor Chris Christenson will officiate. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 12 Noon until the time of service. The Schumacher Kish Funeral Home of La Crescent is assisting the family.
