Frank received the distinction of being named resident of the month in February of 2011 at the Golden Living Care Center and the honor of being crowned Applefest King Apple this past fall. In addition to being an avid Euchre player, Frank will be remembered for his almost daily trips by pickup to visit with his many neighbors up and down Pine Creek Valley.

He is survived by two sisters, Gertrude Pfeiffer of Sparta, Wis., Florence McLaughlin of La Crescent, his nieces Shirley (Bill) Rentz of Sparta, Mary McLaughlin of La Crescent, nephews William (Joyce) Montfort of Eldon, MO. and Robert (Joyce) McLaughlin of West Salem, Wis., seven grand nieces and nephews and their families; numerous cousins including John Nintemann of St. Charles, Minn., who along with Stan Sperbeck attended many farm auctions with Frank. He is further survived by special friends and guardians Bob and Karen Schuldt and Pat Gruntzel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Marie, Margaret and Agnes Marie and one brother Donald.

A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the Church Of The Crucifixion in La Crescent. Rev. Gregory Havel will officiate. Burial will follow in the Crucifixion Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crescent on Wednesday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 P.M. Visitation will also be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be used in Franks memory.
