Joan O Moulis

Joan O. Moulis, 79, of La Crosse, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the Bethany St. Joseph Care Center. She was born on May 19, 1932 in La Crosse to John S. and Margaret (Bower) Meier. Joan graduated from Aquinas High School in 1950. She married Joseph J. Moulis Jr. on June 25, 1955 in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Over the years, Joan provided child care for several families including the Vanderploegs and the Bogies. Joan was an avid Packer and Badger fan, a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by four children, Nancy Wisowaty of La Crosse, Mary (Steve) Knutson of La Crosse, Richard Moulis of Onalaska and Joseph (Jackie) Moulis of Madison, four grandchildren, Robert (Erin) Wisowaty of Onalaska, Brenda Wisowaty and her special friend Ben Hatz of Bangor, Michael Moulis and Miranda Moulis, both of Madison, three step-grandchildren, Alicia (John) Skiles-Richards, Alex Knutson and Abby Knutson, all of La Crosse, one great-grandchild Taylor Wisowaty of Onalaska, one step great-grandchild Nolan Richards of La Crosse, and a brother, John E. Meier of La Crosse. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, a daughter Kathleen M. Beyer, and her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 27th, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Rev. Lawrence B. Berger will officiate. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse on Monday from 5:00 7:00 PM and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Memorials may be given to the Gundersen Lutheran Hospice Program, Gundersen Lutheran Foundation, or Bethany St. Joseph Care Center.
