Big Dan, as he was called, graduated from Western Wisconsin Technical Institute with a degree in welding and was employed byTraneCompany for 33 years.OnJuly 19, 1997, he married JaneLenthatSt.PaulsLutheranChurchinLa Crosse. He enjoyed football, fishing, hunting, camping atLake Holcombeand tinkering in his garage. His laid back, light-hearted nature and Norwegian sense of humor will be greatly missed. Dan is survived by his wife, Jane, ofLa Crosse; two daughters, JessicaStrangstalien(fianc Chad Davis) ofCharleston,S.C. andAlyshaofLa Crosse;a son, Jason (fianc Katie Sanders) of Davenport,Iowa;a sister, Tami (Robert)Innesof Sarasota, Fla.; a brother, Darrell (Karen)Strangstalienof Sparta, Wis.; his mother-in-law, MarcyLenthof PrairieduChien, Wis.; sisters-in-law, Janelle (Dean)Konrardyand JoleneLenth;nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and other relatives.He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 5th, at 6:00 p.m., at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4141 Mormon Coulee Road, La Crosse. Rev. Meredith McGrath and Rev. Roger Hjelle will officiate. Private burial will take place in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
