Wilbert, 93, of Sun Prairie, died Monday, February 13, 2012, at Kindred Hearts Assistant Living, Sun Prairie, WI.

He was born in LaCrosse, WI on Oct. 10, 1918, the son of Martha (Eggler) and Frank Roesler. He was united in marriage to Esther Stapert on Jan. 19, 1943 in Charleston, S.C.While living in Sun Prairie Wilbert made many friends playing euchre throughout the area. When he lived the Baraboo area he worked for the Badger Ammunition Plant. Esther and Wilbert spent many years in AZ for the winter and coming back to WI for the summer. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, horses, playing cards, and traveling. He never met a person that didnt become his friend. Wilbert served in WWII with the Armys 204th Medical Hospital Ship Company with duty on board the US Army Hospital Ship Acadia on one of its voyages to Africa.

He is survived by three children, Frank (Diane), Phoenix, AZ, Gerald (Pam), Madison, WI, andGina (Tom) Senger, Marshall, WI, Grandchildren: Mary (Leroy) Moss, Apache Junction, AZWilliam (Jamie) Roesler, Bloomfield, CO, Aryn, Amanda, & Nehemiah Senger, Marshall, WI, and Jonathan & Carrie Roesler, Madison, WI, Great Grandchildren: Cassandra (Daniel) Flores, Mesa, AZ, Dominique Moss, Apache Junction, AZ, Shelby & Willow Roesler, Bloomfield, CO,Matthew Roesler, Stoughton, WI, Deja, Tyle Bass, Madison, WI, Great-Great Grandson: Danny Flores, Apache Junction, AZ, brothers and sisters, Lucille Hoeth, Las Vegas, NV,Doris Gerke, Genoa, WI, Douglas (Helen) Roesler, Coon Valley, WI, Phyllis Bendel, La Crosse, WI, and Susanne (Gerald) Forsythe, Onalaska, WI, and In-laws: Rosella Roesler, Theresa Kenyon, Adeline Krumm, Delia Raffelson, Margie Alens, LaVera Erickson, John Stapert and Wayne Stapert.

He was preceded in death by wife Esther, parents Frank and Martha Roesler, brother Daniel, in-laws Leo Gerke, Arville Hoeth, Jacob Stapert, Elmer Stapert, Ethel Gongeir and Caroline Evenson.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 17, 4:00 8:00 PM at The Colonial Club, 301 Blankenheim Lane, Sun Prairie, WI.

Funeral services will be held Saturday February 18th, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at the Schumacher Kish Funeral Home, 200 West Avenue South, La Crosse, WI. Rev. Dennis C. Johnson will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of services.
