Beata F Holthaus

Beata F. Babe Holthaus, 95 of La Crescent, MN. passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. She was born on April 14, 1916 in La Crosse to Henry and May (Pierce) Abnet. She married Harold F. Holthaus in La Crescent on June 3, 1939 and he preceded her in death in 2002. Following her high school graduation Babe attended Beauty School in Minneapolis then worked with her sister at a beauty salon in La Crosse. She later moved to La Crescent and opened Babes Beauty Shop which she ran for over 60 years.

Babe is survived by her children, Michael (Cathy) Holthaus of St. Paul MN., Steve Holthaus of Black River Falls, WI., Linda (Jerry) Bich of Wayzata MN., Jeff Holthaus of La Crescent, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.

A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at The Church Of The Crucifixion in La Crescent. Rev. Gregory Havel will officiate. Entombment will be in the St. Francis Of Assisi Mausoleum at the Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call on the family Thursday morning from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be used in Babes memory.
