Jonathan R. King, 53 of rural Mondovi passed away at his home on Monday, March 5, 2012. He was born February 4, 1959 in Menomonie, WI to Richard and Sharon (Ritzman) King and graduated from Alexandria High School, Alexandria, MN in 1977. Jon truly enjoyed his job as an HVAC technician in the Eau Claire area for over 20 years.

Jon had many talents such as woodworking, gardening and landscaping. He was an avid rock collector and enjoyed spending time with all kinds of animals. He also donated many hours throughout his life to the Special Olympics in the Eau Claire area.

Jon is survived by his father; Richard (Carol) King of Onalaska, WI; two sisters, Wendy Kittelson of Alexandria, MN, Cindy Shirk of South St. Paul, MN ; a brother, DeWayne King (Deanna) of Sparta, WI; along with four nephews, a niece, a great-nephew and a great-niece. He was preceded in death by his mother Sharon and a brother-in-law, Robert Shirk.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 10th at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse. Rev. Mark Rieke will officiate. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
