Peter James Vick



Peter James Vick, 69, of Stoddard, died on Friday, March 23, 2012 in his home. He was born on July 24, 1942 in Rice Lake, WI to Orrin and Ruth (Berg) Vick. Peter graduated from Rice Lake High School in May of 1960. He then graduated from the University of Montana in Missoula in June of 1966 with a B.S. degree in Forestry. He married Karen Abrolat in Des Moines, Iowa in 1965 and they later divorced. In August of 1978 he married Theresa Breidel in La Crosse. He worked for the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Transportation before retiring in 1997. Peter loved to fish, hunt and trap shoot. He was a loyal fan of the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. He was a member of the Chaseburg Rod and Gun Club, the Moose Lodge #1920 of La Crosse and Mary, Mother of the Church Parish.

He is survived by his wife Theresa of Stoddard, a daughter Allisa (Tony) DApice of Dunlap, TN and their children Tanner, Giovanna and Dominic, two sons David Vick of New London, WI and his children Jessica and Cody and Bryan Vick of Holmen, Wi and his daughter Abigail, a sister Marit Vick of North Pole, AK, two brothers Paul (Terrisita) Vick of La Grand, OR and David (Anne) Vick of Fairbanks, AK, a sister-in-law Marian Korn of Westby, WI, two brothers-in-law Herbert (Mary) Breidel of Peoria, IL and David (Barbara) Breidel of Branson, MO along with many nieces and nephews, two aunts and one uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law Joseph Korn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Rev. Douglas Robertson will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery, St. Joseph Ridge. Friends and family may call at the Schumacher Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse on Monday from 5-7 pm where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM and again at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
