Alois P. Al Soucheck, 88, of Stoddard, WI, died on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. He was born on March 14, 1924 in La Crosse to John and Sylvia (Spears) Soucheck. Al grew up on a farm near Stoddard, and moved to Stoddard in the mid 1950s. He married Audrey Wangen on August 8, 1953 in North Kickapoo Lutheran Church, Soldiers Grove, WI. He worked for over 40 years at Allis Chalmers and Trane Company, retiring in 1986. Al played with his polka band, Al Soucheck and His Five Yanks, for over sixty five years. He also enjoyed fishing.
Al is survived by his wife Audrey, three children, Ray (Amy) Soucheck of Ft. Worth, TX, Larry Soucheck of Stoddard, and Connie (Nolan) Stigen of De Soto, WI, five grandchildren, Angie (Scott) Larson, Jon Soucheck, Krissy (Blake) Skaja, Addie Soucheck, and Heath Soucheck, and three great-grandchildren, Alex, Tony and Andrew Larson. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sylvia Soucheck, and his step-mother, Helen Hermann Soucheck.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14th, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church. Pastor Robert Wassermann will officiate. Burial will be in the Stoddard Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse on Friday from 6:00 8:00 PM and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Mt. Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church.
