Leona F Marco

Leona F. Marco, 98 of La Crosse passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Valley View Healthcare Center in Houston, MN. She was born in La Crosse on December 25, 1913 to Louis and Frances (Gagermeier) Kendhammer. On May 25, 1935 she married William P. Bill Marco, Sr. in St. Joseph Cathedral, La Crosse and he preceded her in death on April 12, 2001.

Leona is survived by three daughters; Rita (William) Clark of Minnesota City, MN, Eileen (Richard) Brown of Rochester, MN and Kathie Self of La Crosse; one son, Richard Dick (Amanda) Marco of Onalaska; a daughter-in-law, Gayla Marco of Schofield, WI; a son-in-law, Robert Self of La Crosse; 12 grandchildren; Brian (Jane) Clark of Gaithersburg, MD, Rebecca (Kent) Huse of Byron, MN, Valerie (Dan) Krage of La Crescent, Leann (Robert) Meyer of Dakota, MN, Robert (Teresa) Brown of Pine Island, MN, Laura (Steve) Thesing of La Crescent, Gregory (Dana) Marco of Eleva, WI, Steven Marco of Antigo, WI, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Marco of London, OH, Scott (Laura) Self of Antioch, IL, Katie (Michael) Dorski of Weston, WI and Amy (Scott) Seidel of The Woodlands, TX; 27 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Irene (Harold) Martini of Onalaska. In addition to her husband William, Sr.; she was preceded in death by a son, William P. Marco, Jr. and a daughter, Marilyn J. Hein; her parents; two brothers, Otto and Albert Kendhammer; five sisters, Louise Martin, Clara Bechen, Rose Bahr, Marie Domstrich and Freda Hetue.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 21thstth at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in La Crosse with Rev. Douglas Robertson officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum, Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services. Memorials are suggested to Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, 2006 Weston St. La Crosse, WI 54601.
