Robert J Johnson

Robert J. Johnson, 70 of La Crosse died Friday, April 20, 2012 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Bobby was born December 21, 1941 in La Crosse to Edwin and Leona (Kessler) Johnson and graduated from Aquinas High School in 1960. On November 15, 1980 he married the love of his life, Millie Dayton.

Bobby worked for 40 years at Peter Nelson & Son and Fowler & Hammer. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially goose hunting with his son, Chad and many other relatives and friends. Chad was the light of his life and enjoyed watching his many ball games.

Survivors include his wife Millie and son Chad (Brooke) Johnson; his brothers, Richard (Dorothy) Johnson and William (Kay) Johnson; his sister, Dolores Lola Graff; his brothers-in-law, Jerry Dayton, Gene (Nancy) Dayton, Everett (Linda) Dayton, Cecil Dayton and Eddie Dayton; his sisters-in-law, Sharon (Rolland) Pataska and Laura (Ken) Iverson; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death his parents Ed and Leona; sisters, Francie Savant, Shirley Bott and Helen Johnson; sisters-in-law, Edith Pavela and Bev Duenkel and a brother-in-law, LeRoy Graff.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 24th at St. James the Less Catholic Church with Rev. Robert A. Schaller officiating. A private family burial will be held at the French Island Cemetery at a later date. Friends and family may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services. Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse is assisting the family.
