Richard C. Butch Muenzenberger, 70, of Winona, MN., passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at his home. He was born in La Crosse, WI., on November 12, 1941, to Clarence and Rosie (Reise) Muenzenberger. On April 24, 1965, he married Judith Bateman in La Crosse.

Butch began his career in outdoor advertising in 1965 which continued on for 46 years until his retirement from Collins Sign Co. in 2011. In his free time, Butch enjoyed watching sports, hunting, fishing, crossword puzzles and most of all spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Judy of rural Winona, he is survived by one daughter Susan (Kenny) Porth of Darwin, MN., two sons Mark (Kala) Muenzenberger of Winona, Gary (Connie) Muenzenberger of Dakota, MN., five grandchildren and one brother Paul (Cheryl) Muenzenberger of St. Joseph Ridge, WI. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers. The family would like to thank the staff physicians and hospice care providers at Mayo Clinic Health System for the compassion and care they provided to Butch and the family during his illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, 200 West Ave. So., La Crosse. Rev. Gregory Havel will officiate. Private family burial in the Oakland Cemetery, Dresbach, MN. will be at a later date. Friends may call on the family Thursday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home and again on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be used in Butchs memory.
