Katherine A Schneider

Katherine A. Kathy Schneider, 77, of La Crosse, died on Tuesday, May 15th, 2012 at her home. She was born on October 8, 1934 in Turtle Lake, WI to Anthony and Rose (Bauer) Hendricks. Kathy married Andrew Effertz in 1953 and they later divorced. She married Henry Schneider in 1972, and he preceded her in death in 2005. Kathy loved watching the Packers, Brewers, and NASCAR. She was a country music lover and loved line-dancing. Kathy had worked at the New Villa for many years and then worked at La Crosse Footwear for 24 years, retiring in 1997. She loved gardening, spending time reading on her patio, and bowling. She is survived by four children, Connie (Ron) Wilda of Rice Lake, WI, Terri (Dee) Ashmore of La Crosse, Peggy (Don) Baardseth of Onalaska, and David (Penny) Effertz of La Crosse, three step-children, Michelle (Vern) LaFleur of Holmen, Mike (Debbie) Schneider of Onalaska, and Bill (Kelly) Schneider of Onalaska, fourteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Theresa Sparish of Cumberland, WI and Mary Johnston of Ferguson, MO, and a brother Tony Hendricks. In addition to her husband Henry she was preceded in death by her parents, two grandsons, Wesley and Tyler, and six brothers and three sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Rev. Douglas Robertson will officiate. Entombment will be in the St. Joseph Mausoleum, Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse on Friday from 4:00 7:00 PM, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:00 PM, and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the charity of the donors choice. Kathys family would like to thank Gundersen Lutheran Hospice, especially Jessie, Teresa and Marcia, for their wonderful care, and thanks to Sister Kathy at Mary, Mother.
