Reay C Ross

Reay C. Ross, 81 of La Crosse, passed away on Saturday, May 19th at the Bethany St. Joseph Care Center in La Crosse. He was born on April 20, 1931 in La Crosse to Christie and Nettie (Miller) Ross. On May 5, 1956 he married Ione Randall in La Crescent, MN. Reay had proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the Stoddard American Legion Post #315. In addition to his wife Ione of La Crosse, Reay is survived by one daughter Joan (Gerry) Hyzer of La Crosse, one son Al (Rita) Ross of La Crosse, four grandchildren; Justin, Leahann, Jessica and Jordan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Bob and two sisters Alice and Betty.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse. Pastor Ellen Rasmussen will officiate. Entombment with military honors will follow in the Garden Of Peace Mausoleum at the Mormon Coulee Memorial Park in rural La Crosse. Friends may call on the family Tuesday morning at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be used in Reays memory.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany St. Josephs and all the card playing friends for the wonderful care and friendship they provided Reay during his stay.
