Dr. (Kathy) Kathleen Ann Wehrenberg, 51 of Holmen passed away peacefully Saturday June 23, 2012 at the Mulder Healthcare Center in West Salem after a three year battle with bone cancer. She was born July 6, 1960 in Lancaster, WI to Robert L. and Alda (Evenson) Wehrenberg.
She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1978 and attended UW-La Crosse. After graduation from UW-La Crosse she attended Palmer College of Chiropractic and received her Doctor of Chiropractic in 1985. Kathy had Chiropractic offices in Arizona, Louisiana and Pennsylvania before finally relocating to the La Crosse area. She had chosen her profession as a promise to her father and because she enjoyed helping others.
Kathy always had her little dog, Susie at her side and enjoyed playing cards, shopping, and researching genealogy. There was always a smile on her face and compassion for others. Her final days were spent with family and friends and she was so happy to have received all your phone calls and visits. Her last year was spent at Pleasant Valley Assisted Living where she met wonderful people and made lasting friendships. These friends quickly became her extended family. Late night talks and shopping excursions soon became daily routine. Kathy had also kept in close contact with several of her college roommates that still live in the La Crosse area. Many cherished stories were hashed and re-hashed over Kathys final days, a tribute to the bond they shared with each other.
Kathy is survived by her brother, Robert (Lorene) Wehrenberg of Onalaska; one niece, Cara Royal of Lenexa, KS; two nephews, Eric (Kerri) Wehrenberg of Denver, CO and Kirk Wehrenberg of Onalaska; a great-nephew, Tanner Royal and great-nieces, Jaidan Royal, Anna and Ella Wehrenberg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alda and one brother, Roger.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 28th at the Holmen Lutheran Church with Rev. Matt Toso and Rev. Dan Henderson officiating.
