John W. Kleinfeldt, 60, of rural Galesville, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 11, 2012 after a 14 month battle with cancer.
John was born on October 3, 1951 in Waukesha, WI to Robert and Helen (Jullie) Kleinfeldt. He graduated from Central High School in West Allis, WI and then went on to become a proud Marine.
On April 19, 1974 he married the love of his life, Kay Marie Klapka. They finished their schooling and left the big city. They moved to Trempealeau and then John bought his piece of heaven on earth outside of Galesville. He soon became a gentleman farmer. He loved his tractor. He cherished all the times everyone got together at deer camp. John worked for Netwal Dental Lab for 26 years until the time of his illness.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Kay. Also, by his much loved brothers and sister; Robert (Linda) of Trempealeau, WI, Richard (Jean) of Delafield, WI, William of Mukwonago, WI, Lorraine of Mukwonago, WI, and sister-in-law; Romaine Kleinfeldt of Mukwonago, WI. He is further survived by his second loving family the Klapkas- Ray (Toni) of Escondido, CA, Edwin Chuck of Barstow, CA, Ken (Kathy) of Greenfield, WI, Bob (Nancy) of West Allis, WI, and Kathy (Max) Prettie of Plymouth, WI.
Uncle John is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much, as well as by many other family members and friends. John will be missed by his special companion, his yellow lab, Ella. John was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Roberta and Beverly, his mother and father-in-law, and his nephew and godson Eddie Klapka.
It was Johns wish that his body be cremated. A memorial service, with military honors, will be held on Saturday, September 1thstth, at 11:00 A.M., at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, 907 Sand Lake Road, Onalaska. The Rev. Kathleen Charles will officiate. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10 am. until time of services.
