Clementine Elizabeth Richie, age 89, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2012 at the Claddagh House in La Crescent, MN.Born in Park Falls, WI on November 25, 1922 to Nina (Harbo) and Samuel Richie, the second of six children. During the Great Depression the Richie children moved into St. Josephs Home, Superior, WI, where she was raised until 1935 when she entered Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration Milwaukee, WI. Embracing herself in her community, Sister Eudocia served with the Franciscan Sisters for 25 years while receiving her Nursing degree and committing herself to service to the poor, sick, and uneducated. Moving to Madison, WI in 1960, she worked for Mendota Mental Health Hospital as a night Supervisor. After retiring she spent years in Nelson and La Crosse, WI working at several post retirement jobs and enriching the lives of those close to her. Her generosity and cheerful spirit endeared her to many throughout her years. All who met her became enchanted with her warm smile and quick wit, ready to give and assist, always putting others before herself.Clementine is survived by her sister, Betty Hess, Nelson, WI; nieces Donna (Rod) Harschlip, Nelson, WI; Carol (Forest) Davis of Squim, WA; Diane (Richard) Iverson, Winona, MN; Marilyn (Curt) Marquardt, Buffalo City, WI; Linda (Darrell) Douglas, Hickory, NC; nephews John (Linda) Hess, Madison, WI; Ron Hess, Minneapolis, MN and Lucy Hess, Hortonville, WI; Eugene (Rosanne Wasserman) Richie, Port Washington, NY; Tom (Debbie) Richie, Lincoln, NB; Tim (Kathy) Richie, Rochester, MN. Thirteen great nieces and nephews, including special great niece, Carly (Mike) ODonnell and great nephew, Lincoln Harschlip. In addition, she is survived by her dear friend and beloved adopted family of 52 years; Sharon (Field) and Ron Rohrer; and her children; Janelle (Tim) Field Rohrer, Judi (Mark) Gantenbein, Jean (Doug Grout) Meyer, Jill (Mark Jahnke) Mullen all of Brownsville, MN; Mike (Madalyn) Field, Marshfield, WI and Mark (Beth) Field, Andover, MN.



Clementine is proceeded in death by sisters, Margaret Clune and Mary Richie; brothers, Dan (Susie) and Don Richie; brother-in-law, Albert Hess; and friend, Russell Field.



A memorial mass to celebrate the life of Clementine will be held at 9:00 A.M. on October 21, 2012 at St. Rose Convent, Queen of Angels Chapel, La Crosse, WI.
