John M. Jack Bohlig, 86, of La Crosse, died on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the Hillview Health Care center. He was born on July 29, 1926 in St. Paul, Minnesota to George and Mabel (Wrabek) Bohlig. Jack had served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He graduated from the University of Minnesota General College where he was a member of the Alpha Tao Omega Fraternity. On October 24, 1947 he married Carol Weiby in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jack started work in sales for McGill Warner Printing Co. in St. Paul. He worked most of his life in sales and sales management for the automotive chemicals industry, including Pyroil and STP. He then worked in the sign industry retiring from La Crosse Sign in 1997. Jack was a member and past president of the Downtown Kiwanis Club of La Crosse and was twice awarded Kiwanian of the year.

He is survived by his wife Carol of La Crosse, two daughters Anna (Terry) Nirva of Genoa, WI and Sandie Lee Bohlig of La Crosse, two sons Stony (Kellie) Bohlig of St. Louis Park, MN and Erik (Jennifer) Bohlig of Beaver Dam, WI, grandchildren Lauren Bohlig OBrien of Minneapolis, MN and Elaina, Gavin, Eliza and Grant Bohlig all of Beaver Dam, WI, foreign exchange student family, Randi Lome of Oslo, Norway, Ruth Nilson of Fredrikstad, Norway, Marianne Sambar of Shorewood, WI and Jana Peterson of Oslo, Norway, along with two sisters Betty Janecky of Crookston, MN and Clara Lee of Athens, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bud Bohlig and a grandson Owen Bohlig.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 21, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church Hope Chapel, 233 West Ave. S., La Crosse. Rev. Dr. J. Taylor Haley will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 2:00 PM until the time of service. The Schumacher Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse is assisrting the family.
