David P Flock

David P. Flock, 73, of La Crosse, died on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. He was born on May 26, 1939 in La Crosse to Lawrence and Mary (Desmond) Flock. Dave was a 1957 graduate of Aquinas High School and worked for the La Crosse Fire Department for 28 years. He enjoyed his life as a firefighter and retired at the age of 50 and enjoyed retirement with his wife, children and grandchildren. Dave also helped his son Randy run Special Moments Floral for 16 years. Dave was a lifetime, active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1254 in La Crosse where he served as a Past State President and was still serving as a local officer. He married Alice Dresen in March of 1988. He was also an avid Packer fan.

He is survived by his wife Alice, a son Tim (Lisa) Flock and their children, Kendra, Lindsay and Michael, a daughter-in-law Debra Flock and her children Jennifer Whittaker and Toni (Dan) Eggler, his brothers and sisters, Mary Alice (Raymond) Dobbs, Peter (Carolyn) Flock, Helen Pedretti, Louise (Larry) Kelsey, Edward (Barbara) Flock, Thomas (Pam) Flock, Marion Hill, and Theresa (Robert) Walchak. He is also survived by Alices children and grandchildren, Douglas (Sue) Dresen and their children Samantha and Elizabeth, Steve (Stacy) Dresen and their children Michael (Bridgette), Kyle, Alex and Tyler, Curt (Natalie) Dresen and their children Maria, Elena, and Nathan, Christopher (Cathy) Dresen and their children Emily, Erin, James and Kaitlin, Nancy (Earl) Stidham and their children Tim and Ben, and Carol (Pat) Geszvain and their children Miranda, Gabriella, Allison and Luke, his in-laws, Michael (Rosemary) Fandel, Carol McGuire and Ida Rose Barone, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Randy Flock, and a granddaughter, Alyssa Lee Dresen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 26th, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Rev. Douglas Robertson will officiate. Committal services will be held at a later date. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse on Tuesday from 4:00 7:00 PM and at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the time of services. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 4:00 PM and an Eagles Ritual ceremony at 6:15 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Eagles Charities or the donors choice.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on the 4th and 6th floors at Gundersen Lutheran for their excellent care of David.
