Gretchen M Neumann

Gretchen M. Neumann, 99, a former La Crosse resident, died on August 31, 2012 in The Villages, FL. She was born on May 23, 1913 on a farm near Pine Creek, MN, married Franklin H. Neumann on November 28, 1934 in La Crosse, WI where they owned and operated Neumann Electric Company for over 30 years. Gretchen was a long time member and past President of the Social Order of Beauceant and a Matron of Eastern Star. She lived a long and healthy life, living on her own and still driving in her 90s; loved art, cooking, collecting recipes, fishing and traveling all over the world and USA.

Gretchen is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin H. Neumann, her parents, Albert and Hulda Moldenhauer, brothers; Albert (Bud), Robert, and Frank Moldenhauer, and daughter-in-law Janith Neumann.

Gretchen is survived by her two sisters; Doris Roesler of La Crosse, WI and Rosemary Frick of Roy, WA., her two sons; Eugene (Dottie) Neumann of Chippewa Falls, WI. and Frank (Janet Fjelstad) Neumann of The Villages, FL, her five grandchildren; Greg (Gena) Neumann of Louisville, KY., Rodney Neumann of NY, James (Nancy) Neumann of Louisville, KY, Eric (Kim) Neumann of Alameda, CA, and Heidi Neumann of Mounds View, MN, six great grandchildren; Geoff (Allison) Neumann of Louisville, KY, Josh (Marissa) Neumann of San Diego, CA, Nicholas and Meghan Neumann of Louisville, KY, Nathan and Ryan Neumann of Alameda, CA

A Memorial Service will be held at the Schumacher Kish Funeral Home, 200 West Ave So, La Crosse WI on Saturday October 20 at 11:00 am followed by Graveside Service at Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse. Rev. Ted Dewald will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorials in Gretchens name be sent to St. Johns Lutheran Church, 10495 SE Sunset Harbor Road, Summerfield FL 34491.
