Joanne Therese (Mckee) Boisvert

d. October 12, 2012

JoAnne Therese (McKee) Boisvert was given her angel wings on Friday, October 12, 2012 and is again reunited with our Dad, Walter J. Boisvert, who passed away on April 4, 2001. Her final day was spent surrounded by her loving children, her twin sister, Joan, her grandchildren, her great-granddaughter, and her loving nieces and nephews.

JoAnne was born on October 5, 1934 in La Crosse to Chester and Theresa (Kirschner) McKee and was blessed to share a life long bond and connection with her identical twin sister, Joan Burge of Onalaska. JoAnne was a member of the 1952 graduating class at Aquinas High School in La Crosse. On October 24, 1956 she was united in marriage to Walter Wally J. Boisvert at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral in La Crosse.

JoAnne was a volunteer teacher aide at Cathedral School during the years her children were in school. She later worked at the Metz Baking Company as a manager at the North and Southside locations. She opted to take early retirement to care for her husband.

JoAnne is survived by her four children; Dr. Walter (Mary) Boisvert of Prairie du Chien, WI, Therese Boisvert and Sandra Rochester both of La Crosse and Gary (Julie) Boisvert of La Crosse; 7 grandchildren; Brandon, Brooke, Nicole, Dylan and Evan Boisvert, Danielle and Jennifer Rochester; her first great-grandchild, JaNaeyah Banks; her twin sister, Joan Burge of Onalaska, along with many nieces and nephews and their loving families. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Wally J. Boisvert, her parents and a brother, Joe McKee of Janesville, WI.

They say parents should live by example and our parents blessed our lives daily with love and faith. If you could see our Mom through her children and grandchildrens eyes you would see an amazingly strong woman. To meet our Mom was to sense the power of tenderness and the strength of unconditional love. As a Grandma her smiles and laughter brought the very heart of Gods soul to each one of us daily. She understood life was a brief gift from God and that it should be enjoyed to the fullest. Her presence made life easier for everyone around her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, October 17th at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral with Monsignor Michael Gorman officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum, Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse on Tuesday from 5-7 PM where a rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM; and at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the time of services. Memorials may be given to the Aquinas Foundation, St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral or to the Diocese of La Crosse, directed for TV Masses.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany St. Josephs Nursing Home for the special loving care they provided daily for our mom. Special thanks to Rachel and the Avalon 100 wing and its staff and residents; and to the priests, especially Msgr. Gorman who stopped by often to pray with and for our mom.
