Deborah Lynn Peterson

d. October 4, 2012

Deborah Lynn Peterson, 59, of Minneapolis, and formerly of La Crescent, passed away at her home on Friday, October 12, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with MS.

Debbie was born in Monroe, Wis., on August 29, 1953, to Eugene and Audrey (Hollis) Arn. She was a graduate of La Crescent High School and began college in Winona to pursue a career in nursing. She worked as a secretary at Aramark Laundry Service until her illness made it impossible to work. She married Richard Peterson and moved to Minneapolis. They later divorced, but Debbie remained in the Twin Cities.

Debbie enjoyed her church, shopping, spending time at the MS Achievement Center, and never missed the Minnesota State Fair. She also enjoyed watching musicals. Debbie always kept her sense of humor and loving personality despite her handicap, and enjoyed the little things in life like smelling a flower or watching her great nieces play and grow up.

Debbie is survived by her brother, Steven E. Arn of Phoenix, Ariz., her sister, Jean (Arn) Stingl (Mike Brown) of La Crescent; a niece, Ashley J. (Stingl) Medland of La Crosse; three nephews, Jason S. (Jenn) Stingl and Travis M. Stingl, both of Holmen, and Joshua Zigan; two great nieces, Brooklyn Medland and Ellianna Stingl; and her former brother-in-law, Brian Stingl. She also leaves behind her extended family, her brother, Trese Mosley; and sisters, Nekeya Sylvia Jackson and Rosalyn Mosely, all of Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 18th, at 1:00 p.m., at Evergreen Church, 2300 East 88th St., Bloomington, Minn., with Pastor Jeff Groen officiating. There will also be a reception and celebration of Debbies life held at The View Grill & Bar in La Crosse, on Saturday, October 20th, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m.

Special thanks to Debbies extended family for the loving care they gave her. We couldnt have done it without them!
