Margaret 'Peggy' Mezera

Margaret 'Peggy' Mezera - Margaret A. Peggy Mezera, 66, of La Crosse, died on Monday, October 22, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 8, 1946, in La Crosse to Lloyd O. and Martha M. (Shawley) Carlson.

Peggy was a wonderful homemaker. She was a member of the West Salem First Responders for 10 years, and a member of the Westby Rod and Gun Club, the La Crosse Muzzleloaders and the Coon Valley Conservation Club. Peggy was a proud member of HCE for 40 years and was also an avid amateur radio operator. KB9-PCJ had gone silent.

She is survived by a son, Troy Mezera; a daughter, Ellyn (Scott) ODonahoe; a grandson, Douglas ODonahoe; three sisters, Lola Dyko, Joan (Roy) Lietzau, and Paula (Jim) Hodak; two sisters-in-law, Francis Hauser and Ruth Serres; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, on November 11, 2007; two daughters, Rebeccah and Christine; her parents, Lloyd and Martha; and step-father, Archie Grodevant.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 26th, at 11:00 a.m., at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, 200 West Ave. So., La Crosse. Rev. David Baldukas will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
