Edna A. Quain, 94, of Onalaska, died on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Onalaska Care Center. She was born on December 13, 1917 in the Town of Greenfield, La Crosse County to Edward and Nettie (Starch) Herlitzka. She married Wilbur Bill Quain on June 23, 1937 in La Crosse. She and Bill had owned and operated La Crosse Machine. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, curling and playing cards. In her later years she enjoyed watching golf on TV and doing crossword puzzles. One of the highlights of her stay at the Onalaska Care Center was becoming Valentine Queen.

She is survived by three daughters Jeanne (Vern) Olson of La Crosse, Connie Heilman of Galesville, WI and Sharon (Jon) Waldow of Proctor, MN, one son Clayton Butch Quain of Onalaska, eight grandchildren Susan (Mike) Erickson, Kristen (Mike) Mattie, Sarah Reckin, Anita (Jeff) Lindvig, Dan (Anne) Heilman, Wendy (Reed) Larson, Julie Galdonik and Chad Quain (Melanie Duman), eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandson, one brother Alfred (Yvonne) Herlitzka of Mason City, IA along with two nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grand-daughter Mary Olson and a son-in-law Russ Heilman.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 5, 2012 at North Presbyterian Church, La Crosse. Pastor Scott Skogen will officiate. Private burial will follow in the Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10 AM until the time of service. Memorials are preferred to North Presbyterian Church. The Schumacher- Kish Funeral Home of Onalaska is assisting the family.
