William L Affeldt

William L. (Bill) Affeldt, Sr., 82 of La Crosse died on Friday, November 16th in his home. He was born on August 6, 1930 in La Crosse to Leonard and Adeline (Larson) Affeldt. Bill graduated from Central High School in 1948. He married Jeanne M. Dayton on June 30, 1951 in St. James the Less Catholic Church. He had worked at Allis Chalmers for 21 years and then at Nabisco for 25 years. Bill loved all sports and working in his yard.

He is survived by his wife Jeanne, four children, William (Christine) Affeldt Jr. of Waukesha, WI, Steven (Teresa) Affeldt of Lake Forest, CA, Barbara (Alex) Quinones of La Crosse, and Scott (Jennifer) Affeldt of St. Louis Park, MN, eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a brother Robert (Juanita) Affeldt of La Crosse, a brother-in-law James Jones of La Crosse, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Michael, and a sister, Donna Jones.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 21st, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. James the Less Catholic Church. Rev. Robert A. Schaller will officiate. Committal services will follow in the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of services. Memorials may be given to the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration.
