Richard Dick Venenga, 69, of Onalaska, died on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. He was born on November 5, 1943 in Sioux Falls, SD to Enno and Jennie (Dammer) Venenga. Dick was a US Air Force veteran. He married Dorothy Beelmann on November 16, 1963 in Luverne, MN. He had worked at Sears for over 30 years. Dick enjoyed working in his garage, camping, traveling and the Green Bay Packers. He loved wintering in Las Vegas for the past six years. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, a daughter Dianne (Steve) Utecht of Onalaska, a son Doug of Oconomowoc, WI, six grandchildren, Susan, Matt, Cassie, Kyle, Mark and Kaiti, and three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Alex and Caroline. He was also honored to be the adopted father of Stephanie Hambrick and grandfather of Chelsea Deiterman and Nate Hayter. His many nieces, nephews and other relatives were also very important to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Larry, and a sister Sadie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at St. Patricks Catholic Church, Onalaska. Msgr. Steven Kachel will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the Onalaska City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home in Onalaska on Tuesday from 4:00 7:00 PM and at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of services.
