Roberta F Miller

Roberta F. Miller, 87 of La Crescent, Mn, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. She was born on July 19, 1925 in Spring Valley, MN, to Arthur and Mildred (Thayer) Tessmer. In 1926 they moved to a farm near Caledonia, MN. Following their retirement from farming in 1937, they moved to Brownsville, MN. Roberta graduated from Caledonia High School and the Winona Business College.

She married William Bill Miller in 1948. They had two daughters and lived in Brownsville until 1966 when they moved to Red Wing MN. Roberta had worked for United Parcel Service for 14 years. After her husband Bill passed away in 1989, she moved to La Crescent, Minnesota where she was a member of Prince Of Peace Lutheran Church.

Roberta is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Warren) Arndt of Bayside, Wis., Tishanna Penton of La Crescent, several nieces and nephews, her sister in law Dorothy Archbold of Ossian Indiana and several dear friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother Lloyd Tessmer and two sisters Edna Tessmer and Alice (Jack) Mullen.

Memorial services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crescent. Pastor Michael Woods will officiate. Burial will take place in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Friends may call on the family Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
