Muriel M Rorabaugh

Muriel M. Rorabaugh, 106, of La Crosse, passed away on Sunday, November 25th, 2012 at the Bethany St. Joseph Care Center. She was born on August 2, 1906 in La Crosse to George and Ellen (Miller) Schneeberger. Muriel joined the Womens Army Corps (WAC) on September 12, 1942 and while stationed at Ft. Benning, GA she met Charles Rorabaugh and they later married in La Crosse in 1946. Muriel was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ in La Crosse and St. Johns Womens guild. She served as President of the Wisconsin State Jaycettes in 1942 and also for the La Crosse Jaycettes. Muriel was a charter member of the La Crosse Girl Reserves Alumni and served as President for the La Crosse Girl Reserves. Muriel was also a member of the Town of Campbell Senior Citizens Group.

She is survived by a daughter, Trudy (Gerard) Sadler of Rancho Murieta, CA, a son-in-law Gene Witek of Prairieville, LA, a granddaughter Beth (Donald) Underwood of Denham Springs, LA, and two great-grandchildren, two nieces, Alyce Jane (Bill) Wehrenberg of La Crosse and Mary Ellen (Jerry) Bambrick of Charlottesville, A, one nephew, Donald (Julie) Schneeberger of Key Largo, FL, and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, a daughter Ruth Ellen Witek, her parents, two brothers, Roy Schneeberger and George Schneeberger and his wife Alice, and a niece Elaine Rapp.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 1thstth, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Johns United Church of Christ, 630 West Avenue So., La Crosse.
