Eric W. Milisch, 90 of Onalaska, Wis., passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Hillview Healthcare Center in La Crosse. He was born in East Germany on January 17, 1922 to Franz and Gertrude (Huebner) Milisch. At the age of three he was brought to America in 1925. He proudly served his country as a combat medic in the United States Army during World War two with the Tenth Mountain Division in the Italian Theater.
He had graduated from the American Institute of Baking and was a production Manager for the G. Heileman Bakery Division from 1956 until his retirement in 1984. On January 3, 1947 Eric married Mary Pat Wodell in Milwaukee, Wi. In addition to his wife Pat of Onalaska, he is survived by three children; his daughter LeeAnn Niebuhr of Woodruff, Wi., his two sons, James (Cheryl) Milisch of Coon Valley, Wi., Robert (Nancy) Milisch of Holmen, Wi., four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one sister Helen (Robert) Pommer of Norcross, GA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.
Eric loved his family dearly and taught them to enjoy traveling, camping, all sports, wildlife, conservation and the beauty of nature.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 14, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church of Holmen, Wi. Rev. John Parr will officiate. Entombment with Military Rites by the Holmen American Legion will be the Garden of Peace Mausoleum at Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Friends may call on the family at the church on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of Mass.
