Erwin J Albrecht

Erwin J. Erv Albrecht, 86 of La Crosse, Wi, passed away on Saturday, December 15 at his home. He was born in La Crosse on April 4, 1926, to Otto and Anna (Lepsch) Albrecht. He married Mary L. Kuehn in La Crescent, MN, on August 26, 1950. Erv had worked for La Crosse Trust Company for thirty years retiring as Vice President in 1990. In earlier days he enjoyed following his four boys involvement in the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corp and had served on its board of directors. He was very active in his community serving on the boards of Oak Grove Cemetery, the Stry Foundation, and the La Crosse Foundation. He had served as the President and Secretary for the La Crosse Jaycees, President and Treasurer of the La Crosse Kiwanis Club, and Lieutenant Governor of District 17 for Kiwanis International. He had served as Vice President of the Gundersen Lutheran Board of Directors and Vice President of the Pettibone Park Commission. Erv was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Crosse and was a past church council treasurer. He enjoyed spending time with his family and looked forward to their annual fishing trip up north.

He is survived by his loving wife Mary of La Crosse, his four sons; Richard (Mary) Albrecht of Oronoco, MN., Larry (Cindy) Albrecht of Fennimore, Wi., David (Debbie) Albrecht of Owatonna, MN., Brian (Kay) Albrecht of Spokane, WA., nine grandchildren and two and great grandchildren . In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille and Ruth.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Pastor Jonathan Rimmert will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call on the family Tuesday evening from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be used in Ervs memory.
