Gloria D Zoerb

She married John F. Zoerb on June 9th, 1952. On their wedding night, they were kidnapped by Dave (a groomsman) and Betty Raatz to attend a La Crosse Camera Club Banquet. They were subsequently released to honeymoon in Door County, which they returned to for the next 50 years.

Gloria loved to travel the country with her family, including two trips to Iceland prior to and after her diagnosis of Alzheimers. She also loved sewing, even using her teachers pension to buy a sewing machine still in use today. Her love of flowers (especially Alstroemeria) led her to work many years at La Crosse Floral after retiring from teaching.

She is survived by her husband, John F. Zoerb, her children, Kevin Hunter (Faith) Zoerb, and Linda Marie Zoerb; grandchildren, Kevin C. Zoerb, Tamara E. Zoerb, Nathan Wilczynski, and Quentin Wilczynski; her sister, Marcie(Dick) Johnson; niece, Sheri (Randy) Thompson; brother-in law, Dick (Margaret Anne) Zoerb; niece, Johanna (David) Ostwald, nephew, Rick (Danielle) Zoerb, niece Megan (Tom) Antlfinger, nephew, Marc (Marcela) Zoerb; brother-in law, Fritz (Louise) Zoerb; niece Karen (Robert) Cohen, and nephew, Kurt Zoerb. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Irene Moulis, and nephew, Karl Zoerb.

Gloria's family wishes to thank the staff at Bethany Riverside for their excellent nurturing and care during her stay there. She is truly loved and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 16th, 2013, at 10:30 AM at English Lutheran Church, 1509 King St., La Crosse. Pastor Mark Solyst will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, La Crosse Chapel, on Tuesday from 5:00 7:00 PM, and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Flowers are most welcome; memorials may be directed to English Lutheran Church, and the local Alzheimers Chapter.
