James W Bergen

James W. Bergen, 75 of La Crosse, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center of La Crosse. He was born in La Crosse on November 6, 1937 to William and Gudrun (Hasley) Bergen. Jim had worked at Trane Company for many years as a welder and later taught welding in their certification program. He loved to spend time riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and going out to breakfast with his good friend Dick Berry. He also enjoyed Prairie Dog hunting in the Dakotas.

Jim is survived by his daughter Barb (Rick) Paulson of Holmen, WI, his son Dan (Sheila) Bergen of Cedar Falls, Iowa, seven grandchildren; Brooke, Chelsey and Mitchell Hall; Travis, Kandis, Willy and Zach Bergen; one great grandson Kameron Bergen, one sister Shirley Janisch of Stoddard, WI, and his first wife Darlene Standiford of Onalaska, WI. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one step daughter Jamie Nelson and his second wife, Sharon Bergen.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 4 until 6 P.M. on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services La Crosse chapel ; 200 West Ave. South. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse.
