Carl C. Casberg, 73, of La Crosse, died on Saturday, January 26th at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. He was born in La Crosse on December 6, 1939 to Kroner E. and Edna A. (Schlicht) Casberg.
He graduated from La Crosse Central High School in 1957 and attended U-W La Crosse. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army and later the National Guard. On July 10, 1971 he was united in marriage to Rosemary Haltmeyer at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. They later divorced yet remained lifelong friends. Carl was employed for over thirty years with McLoone Metal Graphics as a screen printer until his retirement.
Carl is survived by his siblings; John (Joanne) Casberg of Cheshire, CT, Ann (Bill) Shely of St. Charles, Il, Alice (Don) Reinicke of Stone Lake, WI, many loving nieces and nephews, his cousin Virginia Mannstedt of La Crosse, and his former wife Rosemary Casberg of McGregor, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, La Crosse chapel located at 200 West Avenue South. Pastor Mark Jolivette will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call on the family at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be used in Carls memory. The family would like to thank Dr. David Momont and the staff at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center for their care and guidance.
