He was born on January 28, 1919, in La Crosse to John and Mabel (Knudson) Redlin. He graduated from Logan High School and attended La Crosse State Teachers College (now theUniversity of Wisconsin-La Crosse). Edward was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1946 and the Corps of Engineersin campaigns in North Africa and Italy from1942 to 1946.He attained the rank of Major.
After his service, Edward worked in sales for Standard Oil Company and River States Oil Company and joined Murphy Oil Corporation in 1960 uponits purchase of River States. He held several positions with Murphy and Murco in marketing before retiring as Marketing Manager in El Dorado, Ark. in 1984.
Edward is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eleanor M. (Albrechtson) Redlin; five children, Bruce J. Redlin of San Diego, Cal., Joan M. (Tom) Marttala of Munroe Falls, Ohio, Barbara A. Scott of San Diego, Cal., Brian D. Redlin of Plano, Texas, and Jonathan L. Redlin of Allen, Texas; and two grandchildren, Angela R. Scott of Los Angeles, Cal., and Kayla M. Marttala of Munroe Falls, Ohio. He was preceded in death by sisters, Inez Harrington and Elinor Redlin.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Wednesday, February 27th, at 1:30 p.m., at Oak Grove Cemetery in La Crosse, with Pastor Tom Meyers officiating.
