Kim married Theodore Lucksted on June

10,1960. Together, they enjoyed visiting Hawaii regularly. They attended the Irish Tenors music concerts and celebrated the holidays with their children and grandchildren. Kim was also passionate about teaching. As a teacher for 38 years, she taught six, seven and eight year olds at Roosevelt, Hogan and Hintgen schools

. She prided herself on remembering the faces and names of many of the students she taught over the years when encountering them later in life, even long after retiring in 1999.

Kim was a charter member of the La Crosse Pi Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, as well as a member of the National Education Association-Retired, Wisconsin Education Association-Retired,La Crosse Area Retired Educators Association, UW L Alumni Association and the First Presbyterian Church.

Kim is survived by her loving husband, Ted, sons; Steven of Tampa, FL, Phillip (Jill) of Marshfield, WI, grandchildren; Kyle (Uyenthi), Bradley, Rebecca and Jared, one brother; Koji of Honolulu and by many loving nieces, nephews and good friends.

She also lives on in the ripple effect from nearly four decades of teaching and impacting young minds,as well as in the hearts and memories of her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 25 at the Schumacher

-Kish Funeral Home of Onalaska with Pastor Scott Skogen officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date. Family and friends may call from 9:00a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gundersen Lutheran Hospice or Hintgen School PTO.
